Time for Change, if not now then when?

I am outraged that this nation is once again on the brink of disaster, this election year is one of the most important elections in my lifetime. Americans can no longer afford to be sheep and lead along another disastrous path because they are afraid of change. If Americans do not vote for change we already know the outcome because we have lived through almost eight long years of Bush and Cheney, the question is not can we afford 4 more years of the same but can we afford 4 more months until another President take the oval office.

John McCain has nothing to offer Americans, so he is now offering us lies and distortions, and even Karl Rove has stated that the McCain ads have gone to far. John McCain has lost any hero or maverick status that he has tried to lay claim to, and his honor was sold to the lowest bidder and what did he get for the sale of his honor, Sarah Palin.

At 72 years of age John McCain put his country last and winning at all costs first. If McCain really wanted a woman as his Vice President, he could have easily chosen Condoleezza Rice or Kay Bailey Hutchison both of whom are far more qualified as Vice President or President than Sarah Palin. McCain chose to pander to the extreme right wing of the Republican party and to the Hillary Clinton supporters because women are interchangeable in McCain’s mind. John McCain has chosen winning over everything else and by choosing that path he has put this country at risk. John McCain has lost every bit of his honor and integrity and on November 4th lets make sure he loses the election.

Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land1 hr 19 min 14 sec - Apr 22, 2006Average rating(7876 ratings)Description: Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This pivotal documentary exposes how the foreign policy interests of American political elites--oil, and a need to have a secure military base in the region, among others--work in combination with Israeli public relations strategies to exercise a powerful influence over how news from the region is reported. Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land carefully analyzes and explains how--through the use of language, framing and context--the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza remains hidden in the news media, and Israeli colonization of the occupied terrorities appears to be a defensive move rather than an offensive one. The documentary also explores the ways that U.S. journalists, for reasons ranging from intimidation to a lack of thorough investigation, have become complicit in carrying out Israel's PR campaign. At its core, the documentary raises questions about the ethics and role of journalism, and the relationship between media and politics.
The Fear today America is Terrorism and the Fear for tomorrow will be Terrorism and the Fear for the day after will be TERRORISM
Since I was young there has always been a threat to our way of life, at least that’s what government has always told us, but now the Bush Regime has taken the threat to a psychotic level 5. Why has this new level of propaganda terrorism been unleashed against the American public? One answer is the PNAC, the Project for a New American Century. The PNAC in a snap shot wants to control the world and all of its resources, but maybe it is just may take on the PNAC, so I encourage everyone to take a look at the website and also take a look at the names on the PNAC.
PNAC Statement of Principles

June 3, 1997
American foreign and defense policy is adrift. Conservatives have criticized the incoherent policies of the Clinton Administration. They have also resisted isolationist impulses from within their own ranks. But conservatives have not confidently advanced a strategic vision of America's role in the world. They have not set forth guiding principles for American foreign policy. They have allowed differences over tactics to obscure potential agreement on strategic objectives. And they have not fought for a defense budget that would maintain American security and advance American interests in the new century.
We aim to change this. We aim to make the case and rally support for American global leadership.
As the 20th century draws to a close, the United States stands as the world's preeminent power. Having led the West to victory in the Cold War, America faces an opportunity and a challenge: Does the United States have the vision to build upon the achievements of past decades? Does the United States have the resolve to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests?

I like this piece by Doug Thompson from Capital Hill Blue.
I feel the same way, it is time for America to step up and put
an end to this dictatorship.
This is still the United States of America, right?

Time to remove a dictator
January 15, 2007 7:53 AM By DOUG THOMPSON
Enough of this pussyfooting: It's time to impeach.
Not just Bush: Bush and Cheney. Both belong behind bars, not just for high crimes and misdemeanors against the Constitution of the United States but for war crimes and murder on an international scale. Try them in the Senate and then ship them to the Hague to be tried as war criminals and for the deaths of each American soldier and Iraqi civilian in their illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq.
But let's not stop there: Arrest Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as co-conspirators in a plot to destroy the Democratic Republic of the United States of America. Add, as fellow conspirators, every member of Congress who voted to authorize Bush's dirty little war and who voted for the rights-robbing USA Patriot Act the fist time around and/or extension of that vile law the second time.
America is a country out of control, led by a government that doesn't listen to its people. Bush, on national television Sunday night, admitted he doesn't much care what the American people think about him or his war. He's going to do whatever he damn well pleases because he knows no one has the power or the balls to stop him.
Sadly, he's right. Bush consolidated his power by leveraging a shell-shocked, Republican-led Congress after 9/11 to give him everything he wanted. Democrats share the blame. Most of them also voted for the war and for the USA Patriot Act.
The Republican leadership may be gone but the Democrats who replaced them aren't listening to the voters who put them into power. They talk lamely of non-binding resolutions against the war, hearings ad infinitum and the standard political rhetoric that has, for too long, replaced any real leadership in the halls of Congress.
The time has come to stop talking. The time has come to act. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi must remove the shackles from her colleagues who want to impeach a President who has, with the help of Congress, overthrown the government of this country and established - for all practical purposes - a dictatorship that answers to no one.
If Pelosi refuses to act, then let her term as Speaker be a short one and put the reign of the party of the jackass into mothballs when our turn comes again at the ballot box. The Republicans failed and the Democrats seem destined to follow. Let's scrap the two-party system in this country and look elsewhere for our leaders. Perhaps a third party or perhaps no party. The political system in America is an outmoded, scandal-ridden, corrupt dinosaur that no longer listens to the will of the people or cares a rat's ass about the nation.
Bush must go. So must Cheney. And if the Congress won't do the job, then they must go too.
The only real questions are how and how soon? Can Americans afford to wait until 2008 to lance the festering boils on the body politic?
I'm not sure we can
Capital Hill Blue
It has been just about a year since I last blogged, and George Bush is still sleeping good a night, even though most of America is in a nightmare that we just cannot seem to wake up from. America is in the grips of a Fascist Regime with a capitalist twist, that just wants Americans to go shopping and ignore all of the pesky details of the War in Iraq. Americans cannot afford to Stay the Course we must Achieve Victory and Accomplish our Mission by IMPEACHING this out of control President and charging Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and all of the other warmongering Neo-Cons with treason and war crimes.
The Democrats are back in control of congress and hopefully now there will be oversight and investigations into the rubber stamp Republican congress over the last six years of the Bush Regime. And speaking of Republicans, Israeli loyalist Joe Lieberman is already showing his true red (not blue) colors and sucking up to the dictator-in-chief by giving Bush a big two thumbs up on the "Surge". Will Israeli loyalist Joe throw the control of congress back to the Republicans?
America let's start caring more about our government and our foreign policy because America is " WE THE PEOPLE".

Alito Should Not Be Confirmed!

Alito should not be confirmed because congress has removed itself from the constitution. Congress refuses to stand up to Bush and hold him accountable according to our constitution. Congress has anointed him King of the United States and has bowed down to his commands. Until the Legislative branch of our government can stop focusing on the luxuries that Jack Abramoff and his kind will hand out and re-focus on the constitution and the laws of the United States of America, there should be no more Supreme Court Nominees, no more I can do anything because of 9-11,no more illegal spying, no more excuses on bringing our troops home, no more money given to Iraq, no more of the incoherent Victory Plan for Iraq, no more Brownies and No more Bush dictatorial powers. Congress needs to stop staying the course, because 9-11 changed everything and we face an enemy that hates our freedom and is determined to strike again in 2006 and 2008. Congress and the America people have to stop this enemy in their war against America.
America has to stand up so the Bush Regime can stand down.

The Republicans just don't get bigotry. Pat Buchanan is defending Alito on the CAP issue stating that he only joined CAP to protest the ouster of ROTC from the College campus and that he is not responsible for the views expressed by a magazines editor on affirmative action and the school becoming co-ed.

"So, what is going on here? Answer: a smear. Because Judge Alito belonged to an alumni group that had a magazine which had an offensive article, he must share those views. Therefore, he is a bigot and the Senate must reject him as morally unqualified to sit on the Supreme Court."
"This is a textbook example of what liberals used to call McCarthyism."

This is not McCarthyism

Are we to believe that in 1985 Alito was such an uninformed and extremely naive man that he never read the magazine or questioned the principles that CAP stood for? I believe that people can mature, especially after twenty years, but just be mature enough to admit it and don’t lie about it. And if you lie or claim you don’t remember then you don’t deserve to sit on the Supreme Court.

The Upper conservative haves scream all day long at the lower conservative have-nots via, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Buchanan, etc about the liberals and their so called quest to take over the country and give it to the Blacks, the Gays, the Mexicans and of course the Terrorists ,and the conservative have-nots believe that the reason they don't have anything is because of those dammed minorities, not because the Conservative haves are robbing them blind.

NSA Whistleblower Alleges Illegal Spying
Former Employee Admits to Being a New York Times Source
By BRIAN ROSS
Jan 10, 2006 — - Russell Tice, a longtime insider at the National Security Agency, is now a whistleblower the agency would like to keep quiet.
For 20 years, Tice worked in the shadows as he helped the United States spy on other people's conversations around the world.
"I specialized in what's called special access programs," Tice said of his job. "We called them 'black world' programs and operations."
But now, Tice tells ABC News that some of those secret "black world" operations run by the NSA were operated in ways that he believes violated the law. He is prepared to tell Congress all he knows about the alleged wrongdoing in these programs run by the Defense Department and the National Security Agency in the post-9/11 efforts to go after terrorists.
"The mentality was we need to get these guys, and we're going to do whatever it takes to get them," he said.
Tracking Calls
Tice says the technology exists to track and sort through every domestic and international phone call as they are switched through centers, such as one in New York, and to search for key words or phrases that a terrorist might use.
"If you picked the word 'jihad' out of a conversation," Tice said, "the technology exists that you focus in on that conversation, and you pull it out of the system for processing."
According to Tice, intelligence analysts use the information to develop graphs that resemble spiderwebs linking one suspect's phone number to hundreds or even thousands more.
Tice Admits Being a New York Times Source
President Bush has admitted that he gave orders that allowed the NSA to eavesdrop on a small number of Americans without the usual requisite warrants.
But Tice disagrees. He says the number of Americans subject to eavesdropping by the NSA could be in the millions if the full range of secret NSA programs is used.
"That would mean for most Americans that if they conducted, or you know, placed an overseas communication, more than likely they were sucked into that vacuum," Tice said.
The same day The New York Times broke the story of the NSA eavesdropping without warrants, Tice surfaced as a whistleblower in the agency. He told ABC News that he was a source for the Times' reporters. But Tice maintains that his conscience is clear.
"As far as I'm concerned, as long as I don't say anything that's classified, I'm not worried," he said. "We need to clean up the intelligence community. We've had abuses, and they need to be addressed."
The NSA revoked Tice's security clearance in May of last year based on what it called psychological concerns and later dismissed him. Tice calls that bunk and says that's the way the NSA deals with troublemakers and whistleblowers. Today the NSA said it had "no information to provide."

A Few Good Articles

Alito fails the test
By HOWARD DEAN
Originally published January 9, 2006
It's been widely acknowledged that President Bush had a bad year in 2005.
One of the problems America faces as a result is the White House's willingness to make decisions based on what benefits the administration politically rather than what's right for America.
The nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. to replace Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor is just one example of this. The president hopes to make up ground with his right-wing base instead of appointing someone who will have the confidence of a wide range of Americans.
It's Alito time again

Public inexcusably tolerant of Bush’s law-breaking
Chris Elliott Archives
There has been much debate over the National Security Agency’s covert wiretapping and e-mail monitoring of American citizens. In the post-Sept. 11, 2001, environment, many Americans seem to have relaxed their sense of privacy, and the White House has found what it thinks it needs to preserve itself.
According to the administration, fast access to communications it deems suspect is necessary to safeguard against further terror attacks. This claim is bogus. A court is in place for that very purpose, and it is famed for its tendency to grant wiretap requests.

The 'fin de regime'?
An out-of-touch George Bush now presides over a lost foreign war and a morass of influence peddling

WASHINGTON -- China's Taoists philosophers warned that you become what you hate. We see this paradox in Washington, where the current administration increasingly reminds one of the old Soviet Union.

No Kerry, Hilary Clinton, Gore or Liberman in 2008!

Kerry part two, I cannot do it. He would not stand up to Bush and call him out on his lies, he just got lost in the rhetoric. The Democrats need fresh leaders, that are not afraid of the swift boating and smear campaigns of the criminals in the White House. No Hilary either, where was she on the Katrina issues or the Iraq war, or the wiretaps? But maybe we are putting the cart before the horse, because the Bush Regime just might say that because of the war on terror we cannot hold the Presidential elections.
The Bush Regime will tell Americans that 9-11 changed everything and these are very dangerous people that hate our freedom. Bush will suspend our freedoms because the terrorists hate our freedom, so if they cannot see our freedom, then they will no longer hates us and then we win the war ( see how it all comes together in Bush world ) This is all in the name of National Security and we will get our freedom back when the war on terror is over in the year 2096. So lets just all calm down give it another 90 years or so and we will have our civil liberties back.

The Bush Regime cannot connect to all of our troops that are dying in Iraq

All of the casualties in the Iraq war are just Collateral Damage to the Bush Regime. Over 2150 troops have died, over 30,000 Iraqi citizens not to mention the wounded, according to our new dictator-in-chief war is hard work , and 9-11 changed everything and these are dangerous people that hate our freedoms, so we need to stay the course, 9-11, 9-11, and we will stand down when the Iraqi’s stand up, we have to fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here, oh yeah and 9-11 changed everything I can’t say that enough.

It’s just about that time for a new Bin Laden video

In the last week of October 2004 Osama came out with a video just in time for the Presidential election.
In October of 2005 Bush was being criticized about Katrina, Plame and the Miers nomination, suddenly Zarqawi comes out with a new letter about taking over Iraq.
Bush is again in serious trouble about illegal spying not to mention Iraq, so what should we expect now, a new terror threat, a new Bin Laden video, an Al- Qaeda letter or maybe they will do a sequel to 9-11, And that is the scariest part.

Craig Crawford‘s 1600: Oval Office Politics
By Craig Crawford, CQ Columnist
Over the holidays, I watched dozens of back episodes of Fox Broadcasting’s “24,” and not once saw rogue counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer stop for a court warrant — not even when he sawed off the head of an informant in an elaborate sting operation to stop a nuclear bomb from going off in Los Angeles.
This is how the president wants us to see the real world. Indeed, George Bush is the Jack Bauer of presidential power. There seem to be no rules in Bush’s world when it comes to the war on terror. Only wimps like the whining bureaucrats on “24” would balk at torture, spying, propaganda — whatever it takes.

The RantTime to impeach a President
By DOUG THOMPSON
Jan 2, 2006, 08:26
I’ve always felt impeachment is the nuclear option of politics; a drastic action we call in after all else fails. That’s why I’ve been reluctant to call for the impeachment of President George W. Bush.No longer. The reckless, arrogant actions of the man leave me with no choice but to consider that final solution.Time to impeach the son of a bitch.

DID WIRETAPPING ACTUALLY WORK?

Remember back in 2004, when Bin Laden was coming

out with new tapes on a regular basis, the terror threat

was heightened to scared as hell red, so if these

wiretaps actually worked and as Cheney put it (that’s

why we have had no attacks since 9-11), then what the

hell was all of the , Scare the hell out of the American

people for? In 2004 we were on a hide behind your

couch and cry alert ,but vote for George Bush because

Kerry can’t protect you.

Who believes that the actual terrorists are sending

emails with plans and making phone calls about the

next bomb? I mean how did Osama’s videos actually

get from his hypothetical cave to the to the media?

UPS, FED X or by underground travel ?

George W. Bush as the New Richard M. Nixon: Both Wiretapped Illegally, and Impeachably; Both Claimed That a President May Violate Congress' Laws to Protect National Security

By JOHN W. DEAN

Friday, Dec. 30, 2005
On Friday, December 16, the New York Times published a major scoop by James Risen and Eric Lichtblau: They reported that Bush authorized the National Security Agency (NSA) to spy on Americans without warrants, ignoring the procedures of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Illegal Wiretaps
